The 10th International Winter Cycling Congress is cancelled

The Winter Cycling Federation and Karlstads Kommun regret to announce that the 10th International Winter Cycling Congress 2023 is cancelled.

“Due to circumstances in the world which, in part, resulted in too few registered participants, we are unable to take the economic risk the congress would put on Karlstad municipality,” says Per-Anders Bergman, Director of Technical Services and Property Management Administration at Karlstads Kommun.

There is an alternative!

The Winter Cycling Federation together with the Finnish Cycling Embassy are collaborating to present the 2023 Master Class in Winter Cycling Urbanism. The Master Class will take place in Oulu, Finland February 22 - 23. Come learn about Oulu’s remarkable success story and ride their famous cycle ways!

“Anyone who is eager to learn how to make cycling in winter better and more accessible, network with like-minded people and experience a city that never stops pedalling will have an opportunity to do so at the Master Class in Finland,” says Timo Peralä, President of the Winter Cycling Federation.

The International Winter Cycling Congress has been held since 2013 in cities all over the world. It has been hosted by the cities of Oulu, Finland; Winnipeg, Canada; Leeuwarden, Netherlands; Minneapolis, USA; Montreal, Canada; Calgary, Canada; Moscow, Russia; and Joensuu, Finland.
